Learning Disability - (or Learning Disorder) Defined as achievement in school that is "significantly" below what would be expected of a student based on his or her intelligence and abilities. Students with learning disorders are often demoralized, often have low social skills, and are more likely to drop out of school. However, what seems to be a learning disorder may actually be caused by cultural factors, bad teachers, or lack of learning opportunity.

Long Term Treatment Programs - Treatment programs for problems with drug abuse or alcohol abuse which last several months. By the 1990's, most treatment programs were shorter term.
