Ms. Thompson (caseworker) went by client's residence this morning to pick him up for his scheduled appointment, however client was not home. He showed up at her office a few minutes ago.
VRC explained that a new appointment date/time will need to be scheduled because VRC's next scheduled appointment today is for 10:00 am. Ms. Thompson understood and agreed.

Tim: Hi, this is Tim Stockner
Rich: Hi Tim, it's Richard Marks.
Tim: Hey, Rich, what's been going on?
Rich: Oh, you know... Look, I called because I can't make our meeting this morning.
Tim: OK. Why is that?
Rich: I just had some things come up and I'm... I'm running behind today, I guess. So I won't be able to meet.
Tim: Rich, we haven't met in almost 6 months, and it is always that you either cancel or don't show up. I'm not sure what is going on here. You told Ms. Thompson that you still want VR services, but I don't really get the sense that you are interested.
Rich: No, I'm interested, it's just that... I mean, I know I want to get a job, but it's just been hard to... get around to things.
Tim: We can put you back in the job club if you want, if you think that would help structure things for you, but you have to show up for at least one meeting so we can lay out a plan.
Or we can close the case for now. Then, later on, when you feel ready, we can re-open the case. It sounds to me like that might be a better approach for now.
Rich: OK
Tim: Is that what you want to do? Close the case for now with the understanding that you can open it again later when you feel up it?
Rich: Yeah, I think that's probably... yeah.
Tim: OK, Rich, then I'll go ahead and fill out the paperwork on that. Then you can contact me when you are ready to re-open the case and move farther along with it.
Rich: OK
Tim: OK. I've got to go, but you give me a call when you are ready.
Rich: OK, 'bye.
